MY STORY

Growing up amidst the sweeping prairie grasses, golden wheat fields, and expansive skies of northwestern South Dakota, I developed a deep appreciation for the subtle beauty of open spaces. These formative experiences shaped my understanding of light, texture, and movement—elements that are foundational to my art.

My journey has taken me from the rural plains of South Dakota and Wyoming to the dynamic cityscapes of Seattle. These contrasting environments inspire a rich interplay in my work, blending the organic and industrial, the nostalgic and contemporary. I create using a range of media—collage, watercolor, photography, and mixed media—to explore themes of memory, transformation, and place.
My collage art often incorporates rice paper, calligraphy, old photographs, and layers of paint and ink. Through these textures and layers, I seek to evoke a sense of connection to history and the stories embedded in everyday materials. My photography reflects a love for the weathered and worn, capturing classic cars, barns, and the quiet beauty of landscapes.

Art, for me, is a journey of exploration and storytelling, where every piece becomes a dialogue with the past and a celebration of creativity.
